Many plant species contain essential oils, saponins and many other ingredients that have healing effects on the human body. So-called 'folk medicine' has been passed down and developed over thousands of years and uses many of these properties as tea, herbal extracts, poultices, wraps and ointments for a wide variety of illnesses.
This seed set contains 12 traditional, ancient medicinal herbs that should not be missing from any herb garden:

  • Yarrow (Achillea millefolium)
    An important medicinal plant known since ancient times, which has expectorant, digestive, wound-healing, antispasmodic and antibacterial effects.
  • Angelica archangelica (Angelica archangelica)

    Low flowering shrub from the Mediterranean region with incomparably fragrant violet flowers. Loved by people and bees.
  • German chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla)
    An all-round talent among the old, traditional medicinal plants. Chamomile flower tea should always be kept in the cupboard.
  • Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis)
    Fresh lemon aroma all summer long. The characteristic tart, fresh scent and taste is unforgettable. An ancient medicinal plant, culinary herb and bee pasture.
  • Common sage (Salvia officinalis)
    Traditional spice and medicinal plant with Mediterranean origins. Well suited for seasoning meat and fish and absolutely essential for the perfect 'Saltimbocca'.
  • Comfrey (Symphytum officinale)
    Root extracts from this ancient medicinal plant are the remedy of choice for bruises, strains and sprains. Comfrey is also a good bee pasture.
  • Thyme, wild thyme (Thymus pulegioides)
    An ancient medicinal plant from antiquity and the Middle Ages. Proven for all respiratory diseases.
  • Valerian (Valeriana officinalis)
    An ancient medicinal plant, known primarily for its calming properties as a tea or herbal extract. Cats are magically attracted to the smell of the roots.
  • Large-flowered mullein (Verbascum densiflorum)
    Mullein is an ancient medicinal plant that is used to treat respiratory diseases. It also has a long tradition of being used as an incense herb.
