Many plant species contain essential oils, saponins and many other ingredients that have healing effects on the human body. So-called 'folk medicine' has been passed down and developed over thousands of years and uses many of these properties as tea, herbal extracts, poultices, wraps and ointments for a wide variety of illnesses.

  • Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis)

  • Common sage (Salvia officinalis)
    Traditional spice and medicinal plant with Mediterranean origins. Well suited for seasoning meat and fish and absolutely essential for the perfect 'Saltimbocca'.
  • Comfrey (Symphytum officinale)
    Root extracts from this ancient medicinal plant are the remedy of choice for bruises, strains and sprains. Comfrey is also a good bee pasture.
  • Thyme, wild thyme (Thymus pulegioides)

  • Valerian (Valeriana officinalis)
    An ancient medicinal plant, known primarily for its calming properties as a tea or herbal extract. Cats are magically attracted to the smell of the roots.
  • Large-flowered mullein (Verbascum densiflorum)
    Mullein is an ancient medicinal plant that is used to treat respiratory diseases. It also has a long tradition of being used as an incense herb.
